Sharing is Caring

Nowadays, you don’t have to acquire crazy artistic skills to create masterpieces. In this article, I’ll review 17 of the best paint by numbers landscape kits I’ve found online.

But before we begin, let me briefly explain the concept behind these kits if you haven’t heard about them before. Paint by Numbers kits come as sheets with a bunch of printed numbers. Each number represents one of the colors shipped together with the kit.

All you have to do is pick the color with your brush and fill the corresponding area. And voilà! You’ll have a masterpiece for less than $30.

Now let’s see what I’ve to show.

1. Colorwork Paint by Numbers Landscape Lakeside Boat

I can’t think of a landscape more relaxing than a sunset by the lakeside. Although you don’t see the sun itself, you can glimpse its faint rays penetrating through the cloudy sky.

The green trees over the other side contrast stunningly with the yellow shades. You can even play around and paint some white strokes over their reflections to intensify the effect.

The small white rowboat fits well with the overall view. You can also add some weathering effects to the wood to make it look more dramatic.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless textured canvas

2. Dimensions Summer Cabin Paint by Numbers Kit for Adults

I’ve always wanted to live in a small hut by a river. A place that nobody knows about. Unfortunately, this dream has yet to be achieved. But I got a glimpse of what it’d look like through this fantastic kit.

I love the incredible attention to the small details. The two dogs, the white seats, and the small rowboat add a nice, warm feeling.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

3. Baisite Paint by Numbers Landscape Snoqualmie National Forest

In this kit, Baisite captures the magical appearance of mount baker in Snoqualmie national forest, Washington. I definitely like how the sun peeks behind the summit while sending off these stark rays.

Having the pine trees at this arrangement defies the greatness of the mountain. It would be quite hard to capture the small color details in this kit. But it’d be worth all the efforts after you finish your masterpiece.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless textured canvas

4. Moonlight Bay

How about mixing landscape with a bit of a cityscape? This kit offers a great scene of a coastal town in this kit. You can see a huge mountain quietly standing in the background with a bunch of stars and a crescent.

If this town is real, I surely hope to visit it someday! I absolutely love how the boats are dispersed into the reflective water.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless textured canvas

5. Baisite Paint by Numbers Landscape Lakeside Boat with Mountains

This kit captures the stunning experience of standing before a mountainous terrain surrounding a calm lake. A small rowboat awaits by the wooden stairs to take you “in medias res”.

However, I believe you can do a better job with the reflections on the water. Don’t be afraid to throw in some bright tones to correctly depict the mountains.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless textured canvas

6. Baisite Paint by Numbers Landscape Sunset by the Lake

Imagine painting this kit while listening to a slow piano in the background. This is a sure way to melt all of your lurking stress.

The choice of color here is absolutely unique. The orange and dark mauve fit splendidly well. The white rowboat breaks the harmony in the middle, but in a good way.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless textured canvas

7. The Starry Night – Van Gogh

Despite the common belief, paint by numbers kits can help you create real masterpieces. In this kit, you’ll be able to follow the original Starry Night painted by Van Gogh in 1888.

Frankly, I’m amazed by the incredible attention to detail. Almost all the strokes resemble the original piece. The only thing different is the slightly brighter yellow tone, which I think looks better over the royal blue.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: oil
  • Material: frameless canvas

8. Poppy Fields near Argenteuil – Claude Monet

If you don’t like the abstract style of Van Gogh, you could try the realistic approach of Monet. He painted this famous piece of a landscape in Argenteuil all the way back in 1875.

Although this piece is fairly simple to paint, it’ll keep you occupied in perfecting the small details. That said, it could be an awesome way to encourage a young kid to explore art.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

9. Fall Birch Forest

Have you considered painting with your best friends? Collaborating together to finish this huge piece is a sure way to have tons of fun.

After you finish, this painting will be a stunning addition to your living room with those red and yellow tones.

Features

  • Size: 20” x 40”
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

10. Four Seasons

I was always searching for a way to express how much I love the Les Quatre Saisons concerti by Vivaldi. That’s why I deeply appreciate this piece.

The details put on the trees are simply mesmerizing. You can try and blend the lines between the seasons to make them less pronounced, though.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

11. Pathway in Monet’s Garden at Giverny

Back to Monet, this time with the masterpiece he painted for a beautiful walkway in his garden. I like how he depicted the sun rays seeping through the flowers and trees.

It’s possible to wander off with your mind and paint a silhouette standing by the shed. This would add a lot of depth.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

12. iCoostor Paint by Numbers Landscape Harbor Hut

If you want a painting that you can enjoy with your kids, I’d definitely recommend this one. It features a cartoony landscape of a harbor hut by the seaside. I like how the sea tones describe the sea depth by alternating between blue and turquoise.

I also love the small detail of the man inside the rowboat. You could spend hours making up a backstory about his quiet life in this distant hut.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

13. Colorwork Paint by Numbers Landscape Full Moon 4 PCS Set

If you want to purchase gifts for the whole family, this set should present the highest value. It includes 4 pieces of landscapes with a huge moon in the background.

After finishing, you could hang all of them in a collage that documents how talented your family is.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

14. Desert Rose

This piece provides a unique look at a spacious landscape. The red roses standing in the front would instantly catch the eyes of your guests. I only wish they had colored the sky with more bright tones to balance with red scattered over the ground.

Features

  • Size: 16″ x 20″
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

15. Harvest At Arles – Van Gogh

If you have a lot of time on your hands, you’d definitely enjoy finishing the “Harvest At Arles” masterpiece. With measurements of 16” x 32”, it should keep you occupied for weeks on end.

After you finish, it’ll be a stunning addition to your living room with those yellow and green tones.

Features

  • Size: 16” x 32”
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

16. Morning in a Pine Forest

This kit depicts an original piece painted by Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky in 1889. It features a distant pine forest where some bear cubs are going about their day.

I only wish they had used richer colors to exactly match the original artwork.

Features

  • Size: 16” x 20”
  • Paint: acrylic
  • Material: frameless canvas

17. Sunset in the Autumn Forest

I started my list with a sunset, and I’m ending it with another one. This time, the sun drops its golden rays over a forest with orange leaves. This should be a perfect project in the chilly days of the autumn.

Features

  • Size: 16” x 20”
  • Paint: oil
  • Material: frameless canvas

Final Thoughts

I am a little biased but In my opinion, Ledgebay has the best paint by numbers landscape kits.

Remember, paint by numbers kits are fairly simple, but they still need time and patience. Now go on and show the world what you can do!
