Top 5 Things To Draw When You Are Heartbroken

Here are five of my favorite art pieces to get you through heavy heartbreaks and disappointments.

1. KOSE Paint by Numbers Night Lake

[amazon box="B08X73YT33"]

My first pick is KOSE’s Night Lake kit. This sophisticated canvas might seem monotonous at first glance, but it’s quite the opposite. Featuring a predominantly blue and purple color scheme, the night lake is only overlooked by a few pine trees and an enchanting crescent moon.

The canvas doesn’t come with a frame, but it hasacrylic paints and a set of paintbrushes in different sizes. Unfortunately, the brushes weren’t as durable as I’d expected. The numbers were also a little small for my taste, which meant I either had to squint or lean closer to the canvas.

I remember when I first got my hands on this piece. I constantly caught myself gazing at the scenic lake and I felt reminiscent, dreamy, but, mostly, hopeful. It’s safe to say, this landscape is preternaturally beautiful; a journey that had me set aside my worries from start to finish.

Overall, it’s a kit that I’d recommend to anyone going through emotional changes. Just be ready to spend some time on this piece, it’ll take you up to ten hours to complete.

My second pick is COLORMAIZE’s NightVenice landscape. It comes bundled with a reference map, three brushes, a set ofacrylic paint , and 2 hooks to hang your work of art.

Venice is packed with stunning buildings and endless canals. The colors merge together into this marvelousoil painting , splashed with shades of blue and orange.

I especially loved the quality of the canvas. It came rolled in a tube but had no visible creases. It seemed like it was made of high-quality linen because of how dense it felt. This is one of thepaintings that deserve to be hung on your home wall once you’re done with it.

You can’t help but feel the warmth radiating from this piece. It’s uplifting and, even, serenading at times. You can almost picture yourself on the gondola, listening to the distant chatters of the crowds while wandering the canals. It’s an amazing piece for recovery and revitalization after a messy breakup.

3. Pretty Jolly Cardinal Paint by Numbers

[amazon box="B08V4BD5R2"]

There’s a lot of symbolism inred cardinals. They’re resilient birds that are commonly found in the winter season. They don’t migrate even under freezing conditions, which’s why they became a symbol of endurance. If you wake up to the chirping of a cardinal, it’s thought to be a sign of stability and balance.

This is why Pretty Jolly’s Cardinal piece is one of my favorites. It’s one of the simpler pieces on my list; just two red cardinals on a branch. It’s a relaxing and joyful piece, not to mention, extremelyeasy to paint .

This kit comes with the same set of accessories. Three brushes, two hooks, and one set ofacrylic paint . I wish the canvas was a little denser, as I constantly felt it was prone to creases from the simplest movements.

Overall, it’s one of the most beginner-friendlypaint by number kits . If you’re looking for a less challenging piece, this one's for you.

  • 16*20 inches
  • Quick-dry acrylic paint
  • Three nylon brushes
  • Two hooks and two screws

4. Things to Draw When You Are Heartbroken - Fasioning DIY Painting Kit - Door and Sea

[amazon box="B08FDQ3P81"]

My fourthpick would be this beautiful painting of a sunset beach. It’s an interesting concept; there’s an open door that overlooks a golden beach. There are many ways to interpret this piece. Personally, I like to see it as a form of escapism.

As I was finishing up this painting, I pictured myself going through the door and into the beach. My footsteps trailed on the fine sand as I made my way into the shallow water. As Icolored through the last bits of the painting , I felt my sorrows sinking into the depths of the ocean.

What stands out the most with thispainting is the quality of the canvas . This is arguably some of the best linen I’ve tried so far. The paintbrushes were also extremely well built. I was able to maneuver my brush into the tight spaces without breaking a sweat.

Thispainting is most fitting in your living room . It serves as a reminder that no matter how trapped you feel right now, a sunny beach awaits you just around the corner.

5. LEDGEBAY Paint by Numbers Moonlight Bay

[amazon box="B07MC1GDX5"]

Finally, take a quiet trip through the lakeside on Ledgebay’s marvelous canvas. There’s impeccable quality in everything. Durable brushes, dense linen, and high-qualityacrylic paint make this one of the most recommended paintings on my list. It’s also the most affordable!

What I love the most about this painting is the feel of it once you’re finished. It looks like an expensiveoil painting that came from a museum. It was definitely a proud moment as I put the final touches on this masterpiece.

However, I wouldn’t recommend this painting if you’ve just started painting. It’s time-consuming, packed with little details and superfine lines, and may need an experienced hand to pull it off without any errors.

Ledgebay also offers different settings at the same price point and featuring the same high-quality materials. I would recommend theColorful Balloon painting as well. It’s full of vibrantcolors but is significantly easier to paint .

  • Quality throughout the kit

What I Didn’t Like

  • Time-consuming
  • Not suitable for beginners
