A rug gripper holds the corner of a rug flat so it stops curling, sliding and bunching. Twenty-five pads is the whole-house pack.
This is the size to buy if you have rugs in most rooms, or you are furnishing a rental, an RV or a holiday let and would rather do the job once. One face grips the rug backing, the other grips the floor, and each pad sits at a corner where the lifting starts.
How to put them on
- Peel the film marked rug and press the pad firmly into the corner of the rug.
- Peel the floor side and set the rug down where you want it.
- Lean on it with your forearm for about thirty seconds.
Which floors they work on
Hardwood, laminate, LVP, vinyl, tile, stone, sealed concrete and low-pile carpet. Because the pad grips the rug itself, they also work as a carpet gripper for a rug laid over carpet.
What's in this pack
Twenty-five reusable rug grippers, plus a spare and a cleaning cloth. Enough for six rugs or so, depending on how many runners are in the mix.
Other pack sizes
Four grippers hold one rug, so the right pack depends on how many rugs are moving.
- Pack of 9 — $12.49, covers two rugs with a spare
- Pack of 17 — $21.49, covers about four rugs
- Triangle gripper — $7.99, covers a single rug, corner shaped
All sizes are in the rug gripper collection.
Common questions
Will they damage my floor or leave residue?
They lift away without residue on sealed floors. If your floor is waxed, oiled or freshly refinished, stick one pad somewhere hidden and lift it after a day before committing the whole rug.
They stopped sticking. Are they finished?
Usually not. Dust is what kills the grip, not age. Wipe the pad with rubbing alcohol, let it dry and press it back down.
Can I keep reusing them after lifting a rug to vacuum?
Yes, that is the point of them. Lift the rug, vacuum, press the pad back down. Wipe it with rubbing alcohol when it eventually stops holding.
Can I cut them to fit?
Yes. Trim one with scissors and it works as rug tape along a runner edge or a straight section that keeps curling.
- Peel the side marked rug first. Press the pad firmly into the corner of the rug backing.
- Then peel the floor side. Lay the corner down and press it flat for a few seconds.
- Work corner by corner. Corners are where lifting starts, so that is where the pads do the most good.
- They lift and reposition. The pads are reusable, so you can move a rug without replacing them.
- Four corners per rug. A pack of nine covers two rugs with one spare, seventeen covers about four, twenty-five covers about six.
- Cheaper than full underlay. If several rugs have started wandering, corner pads work out less expensive than putting a full pad under each one.
- Reusable corner grippers. The quantity shown in the option you select above.
- One face grips the rug, the other grips the floor. No adhesive residue on either.
- Orders ship within 2 to 4 business days. Often sooner.
- Free shipping on orders over $40. A flat $5.95 below that.
- 30-day returns on unopened items. Returned unopened within 30 days and we refund in full.
